Memo ~ My own home sweet home? (5 July 2009)

Today I went to see the new condominium which I had discovered at One Utama where they had a booth to promote it. Well, technically speaking, it's not "new" because it's not even there yet. It's still under construction and supposed to be finished by the year 2012 (when the world ends according to the Mayan Calendar!). Ooo...

My friend and I reached there without much effort thanks to the friendly signboards all over the place. As most people there had already done, we went around to discover the showrooms and the unit sales progress. By that point of time, the units of 2 blocks had already been booked by more than 80%! And those higher floors which I favor were no more! Oh my...

Nonetheless we still tried to spend our valuable time there trying to figure out what's good with the remaining units and the new project overall. After gone through a few units, I finally found one located 2 floors up from the ground and gave in my "bet". Ya that's the best way to describe my decision I guess. It was a kinda rush decision and sort of without any more choice feeling too. It also opposed to my usual me as I normally prefer higher floors only. But still I want to believe I have made my first right move.

So this is gonna be my 1st ever home sweet home? I hope it's going to turn out soon. And I'm going to settle down there with all I have!

Memo ~ First blood donation (30 May 2009)

The night before, I had made up my mind to go for it, for the sake of helping people. It wasn't an extremely strong decision. It's just like "oh, now's the chance for me to do it" kind of decision (sounds like I've been waiting for it?). And before that, I was so afraid of giving away my blood to the blood bank. Well, I was a member of the Red Crescent, so my role was to get more people to contribute more than what I could have done alone right? Hehe...

The process? Well, it's way easier than what I had imagined all the time. Maybe I had a company with me I guess. ;)

The following few days I've been feeling less energetic than usual. At gym I also couldn't perform as much as I used to do. Probably it will last for a week at least I guess.

So next time, I will go for donations again but, only for the sake of helping people I know. I have done it one time so I won't feel as much fear as before. The reason why I hesitate to go on a more regular basis is because I still hold the fear of depleting my body cells every time I do a blood donation. Hmm... I really don't know.

Oh by the way, I'm B class. Next time onwards I can read some personality test based on my blood type. ;)

Long time ago I read a Japanese comic series that introduced to me something like dark fairy tales. The storyline is about a group of conspirators who after the death of their great leader are doing a psychological experiment to train a group of children from baby age to become super humans who can easily manipulate people's minds to carry out all sorts of terrorism acts on their behalf. And when the children have grown up, the group will then handpick the best out from them to become their new leader to conquer the world. So when these children are small, they don't get to read those fairy tales like Cinderella. Instead, they are given dark fairy tales which are nothing about happy endings but mankind weaknesses which are depicted in pretty much the same way as bedtime stories' except that they look creepy.

The name of the comic is "Monster", which actually refers to the chosen one who is the sole survivor of the experiment. He looks like an innocent neighbor boy but there're always evils in his heads. The storyline is mainly based on a conspiracy theory in Hitler's Nazis era. Yes that's right, Hitler's followers are trying to find the next Hitler after their leader's death to bring the world into chaos once again. The story is fantastic as you will get to see the ways how the little boy manipulate the inner weaknesses of humans to carry out his evil wills. But after all, the boy is just an experiment product who has been brainwashed to live up to his evil guardians' expectations. He's been told by his guardians what's right and not what we think is right.

This dark fairy tales thing has brought a huge impact on me because I had never known there could be dark sides of fairy tales that exist in parallel with those bright ones which I have grown up together with. So, do we all live up to someone's expectations also?

Wow... I didn't expect this music to have dated so long already. It was composed back in year 1985??? Eh, come on la, I'm not that old. Haha... I first heard this song from a Japanese series called Lipstick. The drama is about a group of teenage girls locked up in a youth prison because of their misbehaviors and the friendship they have forged over difficult times to fight against the unfairness in this world. I especially like the ending credit part because of the way they have shot it. It's very cool~ It's shot in the way that resembles flashbacks of all the memorable events that have happened throughout the plots in this drama.

Still... it's kinda weird to have found out that this song is that old especially because I really like it very much. :P

I got to know this song from the very best Japanese anime Slam Dunk. It's one of the best theme songs from the series. It means "love until the end of the world" if not mistaken :P This song fits perfectly to the strong passions for youthful sports and youthful love.

Memo ~ 3-days-course detoxification a.k.a. body cleansing (7th Mac 2009)

So busy lately till no time to blog about my pastimes. Recently I've only made posts with links to some interesting videos. Well... could I be lazy nowadays to blog too?

Any idea when you see these many fruits on the table? It seems to be able to feed a whole family of 5 right? No, I alone would eat them all up! Yeap, I was having a 3-days long detoxification process by eating only fruits. And hell yeah that's a lot of fruits there (and I wasn't aware of how difficult it was to finish them later too).

So what did I have there? Just try to figure it out by looking at the picture. Among these, grapes and green pears turned out to be the most appetizing choices. While bananas made me more resistant to hunger over longer hours. Then... the papayas... oh geez... it still makes me sick just to think about it today :S The rest of it? Oranges, tomatoes, red and green apples, they simply presented to me with more colorful choices only. Not much help :(

So did I make it till the end? Nope... not this round. I gave up at the end of 2nd day and decided to get something hot to fill my stomach already. Next time I should think about something hot or warm to include in the menu too.

That's all for this time. Ya I'm still thinking to give it another try next time. Stay tuned...

After born in Malaysia for 28 years, finally I had my 1st step on the historical ground of our National Monument (also known as "Tugu Negara" in Malaysia). I had been seeing it on our RTM for all this while. So I didn't really have any anticipation to see it again. After all, it's just another monument right? But then... I was wrong.

Funny joke ~ A hippy's misfortune

A hippy gets on a bus and spies a pretty young nun.

He sits down next to her, and asks her: 'Can we have sex ?'

'No,' she replies, 'I'm married to God.'

She then stands up, and gets off at the next stop.

The bus driver, who overheard, turns to the hippy and says 'I can tell you how to have sex with her !'

I've never seen him giving speeches to the people until his Inaugural Address on the day he took his oath as the President. And most importantly we haven't seen him changing anything yet. But, I think we still can afford our hopes on this man. Yes HOPE. And to beef up our hopes, we need to believe, not just on him, but also on our hopes to this man. He's now my superstar. He's my inspiration.

Memo ~ Completion of my 1st great challenge of 2009

Yesterday we did a demo session to the top management of our prospect. And it was the first time I've ever done a demo to so many people (by counting 1 VIP = 2 or 3 persons depending on his rank). They were led by the Country Manager who was accompanied by the left and right guardians (some directors).

So the few days before the demo, again I had been obsessed with all the details which I had to memorize to present to the audience the full extent that our solution is able to offer. We went through a few rounds in the office to rehearse it to the best and within the limited time allowed. So, there were a number of feedback and each required me to change the way I went with the demo.

Then on the day of demo, we set up our equipments and had our seats in front of the audience inside their conference room. We started by giving an introduction of our company profile and products followed by the solution which we are proposing to them. When I was doing the demo, I could feel my dancing heartbeats from start to the end. And my voice was shaking like I was confessing in a lawful court. But fortunately in the end, I was able to do every step necessary without missing any one of them and it was done within time.

After the demo, we had conversations among ourselves about how we had done it together. And I realized that I was not alone to feel that kind of pressure while we were in the room. In fact, I had observed my boss that he didn't give his speech the way he used to do as well. And I was kinda hurt by his unconsciously (I put it this way because I do believe everyone of us was pressured considerably) rude act during the demo. But thanks to his bitter lesson I will never do the same thing which I had done ever again in front of him.

So, everyone has pressure ma. You have, I have, even the uncle in the bus also had. Why pushed me? :)

And that's my 1st huge task in 2009. Phew~ Take a moment to chill out now.

Memo ~ How I entered year 2009

OK, first thing was, my plan for my own home sweet home screwed up in 2008.

But hey, I had a wonderful ending to conclude my job in that year too (despite an awkward start). So, that should have evened it.

And the thing that was closest to the year end was about moving out to a new place and getting back to my solo life once again.

Again (I've told myself many times), life is full of surprises and it doesn't always go the way we like it or plan it. What's more important is after a setback, we should find the good sides of it first. So what's good about it now? I have a bigger and more comfortable bed (though I haven't had a good sleep yet), a big TV (which I still haven't figured out the way to play my DVD player on it yet), a fully-auto washing machine (I just realized what's the most important invention around my living), a spacey bathroom (with a water heater! wow!) and a brand new neighborhood. Oh, I now have a basketball court within walking distance from my condo too, isn't that the coolest thing ever? :D

Well, me and my parents spent 3 full days moving all the stuff out from my ex- living place (and not to mention how interesting that was). And I basically had to re-start my life by setting up the Internet, locating the best spot for my PC, getting fit into my new bed, and most importantly finding the best way to enjoy my new driving experience to work in the new traffic.
